Where: Taconic Outdoor Education Center, 75 Mountain Laurel Lane, Cold Spring, NY 10516A Sugar Maple celebration. Pancake breakfast and hands-on demonstration oftapping trees, boiling sap and producing syrup.

(2) Mountain Laurel Outdoor Rec Fest
When: Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 9:00am to 2:00pm
Where: Taconic Outdoor Education Center, 75 Mountain Laurel Lane, Cold Spring, NY 10516Unplug your family and participate in the National Get Outdoors Day. Learn about canoes, orienteering, outdoor skills, geocaching, adventure challenges,birding and nature. Food and beverages are available.

(3) Third Annual Nordic Ski Swap & Sale - November 2012
Where: Taconic Outdoor Education Center, 75 Mountain Laurel Lane, Cold Spring, NY 10516
For the past two years FOFHH and TOEC raised funds at the annual nordic ski swap and sale to underwrite improvements at the Fahnestock Winter Park. The annual event is a place to sell and purchase new and used equipment that is outgrown or little used. (Sorry, no three pin binding systems, or downhill equipment will be accepted.) Items for sale last year included: new and used cross country skis for kids and adults, boots, poles, bindings, snowshoes, ski bags, roller skis and blades, car racks and ski boxes.
Participants can bring in their lightly used nordic ski equipment and snow shoes and sell them at the event (FOFHH keeps 20% of the proceeds) or just come to try and get a great deal on equipment before the ski season begins.
Admission is free.
