Work is progressing on building a bridge, rather I should say preparing to build a bridge. The old one is completely out.
The next trip is Saturday September 5 at 9 am at Hubbard Lodge on Route 9. We will be working to remove rocks and will work until 3 pm or we are exhausted, whichever comes first. Even if you are only able to come for half a day, you are welcome. There are work trips the following two days, same time, same place.
Bring lunch, lots of water to drink, and work gloves. This work trip involves tasks that kids ages 10 and up can do. Bringing a friend or two would be great. Feel free to forward this note to others you know might be interested. This work trip can use as many people who would like to help. If you can only help part of the day, that is fine.

- Saturday August 1 - DONE - Build temporary crossing on rocks; stream crossing built and bridge prepped for work next week.
- Sunday August 8 - DONE - Set up high line to drag plates and beams off the bridge
- Saturday August 15 - DONE - Remove wooden bridge under steel bridge
- Saturday August 22 - pull remaining logs, prep the site for installing the gabion baskets (you have all seen these baskets along roads holding rock to make a retaining wall - they are made of chain link fence)
- Labor Day weekend, Saturday September 5 thru Monday September 7, with permission for anyone who wants to camp out
